Can this be mounted to a stock VIII lip as shown by the OP? If so I will be doing this as soon as I get my replacement front bumper.

Also, what guage aluminum did you use for the DP heatshield? Advice on dimensions and mounting process for said heatshield please.

I don't see any reason why it couldn't mount to the stock lip. If you follow my guide, you'll essentially be building it to fit your car. There will be slight differences to every application which will require you to tailor the fitment. My instructions simply show you my thought process throughout. I don't remember the gauge of the aluminum sheet I used...its thin tho...whatever lowe's had. My downpipe started burning the plastic a bit and I noticed it browning, so I just put a piece over that spot (maybe 4" x 8").

For the cost of materials, just build it and see how it works. If you have half a brain you'll be able to make it work and troubleshoot any fitment or structural problems. Feel free to post or pm any specific questions along the way. I like to check this thread pretty often...it's my most viewed thread so I like to maintain it well lol

just one other question, you cut the shape of the bumper out on the 8 ft long side of the panel yes? it just looks like it comes down the center of the car more than 4 ft. the diagram drawn shows 51 inches. also, do you think the u bolt mounts at the rear will work with a tanabe 4 pt front underbrace?

Yea I should fix that, someone else noticed it too. Its just an error in the figures I posted. That length can only be a max of 48" obviously....most of it gets trimmed off anyway. Just trim it so theres not too much hanging off after the rear mounting points. I don't know the thickness of the tanabe brace, but there's various sized u-bolts available. You can get pretty creative with mounting as long as you have a decent source for hardware (I've used lowe's or ace for everything) and can improvise lol. Also, zip-ties are your friend. There are some beefy ones out there that will do whatever you want. I use them on the front mounting holes since the plastic rivets are a pain in the *** to work with and wear out after many uses.
