A IX Turbo is great but FYI on my 2003 EVO VIII I ran a 12.3 @ 113MPH with the 9.8 Hotside VIII Turbo. I think if you are going to swap the turbo, get a FP Green at least or some sort of bolt on unit. The IX is 20WHP or so but I don't think it warrants the upgrade unless you get a SMOKING deal.

Does this mean I will have to get an Evo 9 turbo oil return line when installing my IX turbo or will the 8 one work?

I did not get a new return line and it worked perfectly. I did, however, have to get a new oil feed line.
