How To: Remote Start anyone?

I just disabled my clutch sensor thing, so i can start the car without pressing the clutch.
Now that its been bypassed, I was looking to see if anyone had a how to on wiring remote start ? It would make it easier then going thru the hassle of finding out what wire is what on my own. Hopefully I looked over an existing thread, If so I apoligize, Please post the link! lol
Thanks!

ive been installing autostarts for a lil over 4 years now, its not very difficult. and all you need to bypass the clutch is a relay and a few wires lol. i will see if i can photocopy my install wire guide for the evo. oh and small word of advice, when bypassing the clutch make sure its never left in gear. unless you want to pay for someones wall or new bumper

Some of the newer alarms will do remote start for manual. I got a Autopage installed on my Evo and Clifford installed on my GSX. It requires you do a certain sequence when getting out of the car so it knows the car was left in neutral when the door closes. Problem is most alarm shops will not enable that feature for any manual car. On the older alarms without that feature, I've heard of a few stories where the car hit another or went over a curb trying to start itself and it was left in gear. While in my pocket, I accidentally press the damn buttons all the time on the pager fob so I'd be shy to install any alarm unless it had the safeguard and was meant to auto start a manual trans.

that safety feature you're talking about is only offered on the newer higher up brands of autostarts. and even if they offer the safety sequence to engage the autostart before you leave the vehicle for a manual, if you dont know what your doing or know how to wire it the way u want it, it will start like a automatic trany setup when its not. its a pain in the *** personaly i think to use the safety feature, but u run the risk of it getting bumped in gear and u go and start it. you still have to break the clutch switch on an evo regardless of any autostart u buy, hence his mod he bought or the relay with a few wires lol. and no shop will wire it that way for you period, for obvious liability reasons. unless you know the installer

I use an alarm installer that comes to my house and does whatever you need. I like that option since I'm not dropping off my 10 second Evo to a stranger. Besides hooking up the RPM wire, it wasn't that difficult. You need to program the alarm for a manual but it was pretty straight forward. How would it get bumped in gear after you leave the car and the car was still running? I have to press the remote start button before getting out of the car which is required as part of the sequence along with the e-brake. Car stays running until you get out and arm it.

I'd like to find a way to use a micro switch so it somehow senses when the car is in gear or neutral. This way I wouldn't have to do anything when I get out of the car.

I only install the premium pager alarms in my vehicles these days. With all the money I have in the Evo, I want to know when my alarm is going off! The Autopage pager alarm wasn't too bad. I think I paid 400 installed. Clifford/Viper cost more for the same features.

When you bypass the manual feature and wire it as if it was an automatic, the car would not run when u get out till all the doors r closed. it will turn off with the key like a automatic, and still start with the autostart with no sequences prior. example dog bumping the stick or a budy who has the bad habit of leaving a car in gear when he gets out.

clifford and viper are the knock off of compustart. i wouldnt even put those two brands "which are made by the same people and exact same" in a evo. im sorry but if you want an autostart worth a crap its only astrostart or compustart. and no not even close to the same features other than they both start the car and make noise when u give the window a good tap. and any autostart u can buy over the counter i wouldn't touch. if u can buy it from someone with ease its a pos... go pick out one from authorized dealers/installers site and go online and order what they got.
