HELP!!! Starter questioN

Sorry don't know if this in the right section, I have an 06 evo 9 and I bought a used starter but it's from an 8 will it still work is it interchangeable ? Thanky you

I believe so. Try to install it and see. Shouldn't take you long to install it. It only has 2 bolt holding it on, plus a couple wires and the heat shield if I remember correctly.

I have the starter out already but when I put them together they are the same except the clip that goes on the starter is facing a different direction ....

they changed the starters in 3/04.

older part number is... M128202D

new part number is... 1810A098

sounds like you have an early evo8 starter.

thanx...

so i change the starter the car started let it run for a lil while and then i shut it off and tried to start it and same thing like before everything turns on but the car doesnt crank, all her is one click from the starter thats all please help need advice on what can be wrong...im new to the evo scene also...
