How to: Know if it's too late for your transfer case
I would take care of the whine before you worry about the rattles. 99% of Evo's rattle when you hit the throttle and it's usually something minor and unavoidable with the way these cars are made. As for the whine, from what I've heard it's most loud when you are decelerating and sounds a lot of a plane taking off almost. Take care of it when the problem is at a minimal as the metal shavings are a warning sign.
