How to install double din

Hey all,

Just did hvac relocation in my evo 8. Went to put my double din in and forgot that i dont have mounting brackets

What does everyone use? Called mitsu and asked the guy in parts if i can buy stock double din brackets for an evo 8. He kinda laughed and said uhhh evo8/9 only come with a single din lol

So, if you put a double din in ur evo, please tell me what u used to mount it

Thanks

Did you buy a gauge bezel from somewhere? They could have install info if your hvac is relocated. I thought I saw one option of placing it on the bottom, and there is a whole apparatus on top for gauges. I shall look for the site again....

i just custom made my lower din HVAC with the oem radio relocation lower panel and cut stock trim method. getting the hvac module down to the lower din was a pain. I had to cut a little bit of the metal and plastic to get it down there. but anyways, I also did not buy the brackets. some people make their own with plastic spacers (similar to the ones that flat screen tv wall mounts come with) but what i did was screw the 2 screws into the control unit and called it a day. it has been working for me with no problems. Im confident it will hold up since when i custom made my lower panel, I glued it all up from behind with epoxy resin to make it stronger.
