I'm hoping this will be helpful to many that are stuck with how to mount their double din in their Evo.

Saw the video last night when I was looking up reviews on the avh8400bh, lol. Plan on installing this exact head unit in my Evo very soon

I also have the JDM double din bezel and I got my HVAC relocation from Cyanide here on the forum.

Looks good man, do you like the unit? From everything I have read it is definitely an awesome setup.

Sorry for the late replace, but yea I love the unit. The video quality is awesome and what I find myself using the most since I have it bypassed is I play music videos using my SDHC card. I love how it has 2 usb ports also. Then with it being a detach face, that had me sold .

The detachable faceplate is what has sold me on it too.

I have the Pioneer avh-p4200 in my Silverado and love it, but the faceplate doesn't come off, and I am not gonna do that in my Evo

The videos that I have seen on Youtube looks like the 8400 is a great unit.

Looking good man

Have you guys looked into the AppRadio2 at all? Since it is built on Windows CE it seems as though it would be a relatively easy radio to hack and do what you want to. AVIC411 has a few threads on it where people have been doing the same already.

I picked it up and put it temporarily in my Scion until I get the Evo finished and start driving it again.

Curious as to anyones thoughts on it. I am not a huge stereo/audio guy, but I thought it was kind of neat for the features it offered so I picked it up anyways. Can't justify much more than that pricewise though..

As far as the appRadio 2, I haven't looked into what available hacks it has. The p8400bh has an advanced app mode that allows you to use compatiable apps from your iphone to the unit. So, I bought the cord for the unit for the radioApp mode and my iphone is jailbroken and I have the app displayout (which displays everything your phone is doing to whatever it is connected to with the proper video out connection) and sbrotator (which you can landscrape just about everything including the lockscreen, the springboard which is the main screen, most apps, etc) so I can actually display everything from my phone onto the unit. When I get my hands on an extra camera, I will post a video of it.
