Evo ix fuel relay

Good day all,

Been experiencing an issue where my fuel pump does not come on sometimes and stalling after engine boggs down.

I've changed fuel pump and checked FPR.

Still unsure if i've solved the problem but in my quest, i've replaced the fuel pump relay and would like to share the part numbers and location of parts under the hood for anyone else who would like to do same....

car is a jdm evo ix mr

old fuel relay on left vs new relay on right

Part number for old fuel relay:MN 122584
Part number for new fuel relay: MR 514694

I have not replaced the two relay switches at the drivers side yet - just want to see if i solved the problem with changing one of the relays.

thanks to Teknet of Trinidad for supplying parts and Silvermike for helping to troubleshoot in case it was MAF sensor.

Hope it helps anyone in the evo community when looking for parts...

Solved the problem.

It seems one of the fuel relays under the driver side compartment was on the way out or could not handle the increased current draw from the walbro.

As a result, the engine would tumble but no fuel to injectors since pump was not receiving power via relay.

The fix was to install a higher amperage relay (30Amp) in the same location.

I can't thank Mr. Beard (electrician) enough for helping to sort this out - he went through alarm system / harness etc.

See alot of ppl have the same issue- this might be a solution....good luck out there..

now seeing this....jdm is RHD....so i'm thinking for a LHD - your fuse box/relays will be on that side as well...

let me know if you solved the issue please.

thanks

Not to dig up an old thread but what part number did you go with for the 30amp relay?
