How to Build Evo 8/9 RS Key Ring Switch Harness
For those of you who saw my WTB thread this will explain how I solved my part search. I found out how to build the RS key switch harness.
The "key switch harness" is a label I use to explain the electrical harness that connects a switch box and a key ring with ignition cylinder next to the right side of the steering wheel.
The other side connects to the side of the ignition switch.
Specifically for the RS key switch harness it has white connector with "flaps" that four wires connect to. Two wires go into the switch box. Two wires go into the Key Ring.
This is what it looks like:

I previously found the part number for the switch box and white connector harness. However, the key ring did not come with it.
That following part number is MN184018.
Then by chance I found this part number MN141252. This part number is a part number for the Key Ring for the RS.
After a google search I found a picture for the Key Ring. It was the missing part but it wasn't connected to anything! It just had loose pins.
That made me question my old harness. Why does the white connector have flaps that close and open.
My guess is that the flaps lock the pins and wires into the white connector. When the flaps are opened the pins have a little movement. Even though they move I tried pulling the pins out but
the pins are still locked into the connector.
So I took this tool and tried to pry open the plastic clips inside the connector. It worked well. Just wedge it in and the pin comes free.

Here is a picture of the original harness and the new one (MN184018)

This is the end where you stick in the tool to pry open the white clips. Notice the white clips on the bottom of the pin.

Pulled out the pin.

Removed the broken harness.

Pins are secure and I didn't need to do any soldering or splicing.
Thus I was able to remove the old key ring and put it into the new harness.
Sidenote:
All the other Evos have an immobilizer ring so they use a different key switch harness.
However the RS does have a six pin female connector even though the RS key switch harness only has four inputs. Hopefully this means that the RS can adopt the LED for the illuminated
Key Ring that is used on all other Evos.
