evo 8 5 speed to mr 6 speed swap help

I found out you also need the 6 speed shifter console and 6 speed shifter console bracket. The one in the 5 speed doesn't clear the shifter cables, but the one in the MR is taller to do so (#2 vs #3 below). Noting this here for anyone that attempts this later.

#3 is the MR version. Don't do things ghetto.

I have the part from my original 6spd and have been swapping the 5spd and 6spd back and forth. It's worked for both, for anyone wondering if they need to change it to go from 6 to 5.

Correct! The 6 speed one will work for both shifter assemblies. However, if someone installs the standard 5 speed console, they will need the 5 speed bracket. I can't imagine why they would do that though since the 6 speed one looks nicer
