Grounding Kit Installation
Installation of Grounding Kit on Lancer Evolution 8
by: Shaun W
Tools used:
Lineage Grounding Kit
Strip Ties
Electrical Tape
10mm Socket Wrench
12mm Socket Wrench
Reminder
Start on an cooled engine, to avoid burns.
1. Unplug Negative battery terminal, and keep seperated during installation
2. Layout all the cables, to see what size you would like and to make sure each reaches its destination.
3. Mount #1 to #2. (some cables come with different sized ends, I recommend using the small ends for point #2)
4. Mount #2 to #3.
5. Mount #3 to #4. (#4 is on rear engine mount, which is probably the hardest area to get to.)
(To make it easier to reach #4, unscrew the mount 2 and one similar on the engine cover to be able to move the wire out of the way)
(Tip: If it becomes to hard to screw in, remove the engine mount and just screw in the grounding kit without, don't lose moount for future use)
6. Mount #4 to #5. (place one cable between the bolt and the clip, and than one between the clip, seems the most secured setting.)
7. Mount #5 to #6.
8. Recheck all connections.
9. Reconnect Battery Securely.
10. Start engine, with AC and Stereo off.
11. Let engine warm up than gas it. If everything seems nominal turn on AC and see if the rpm's increase.
12. If everything is running fine. Strip tie in lose cable, how ever you see fit.
Reminder
Wrap any part of the cable that is seen in the picture, that is close to a heat source to avoid burning.
