Helix Power is pleased to announce the release of its RNA series intake system for the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII. The Helix RNA system replaces the restrictive factory air-box and rubber intake hose with a high-flow cotton element air filter and cast aluminum intake arm. This air filter is designed to work with the factory MAF sensor and includes all necessary hoses, clamps, etc. The cotton element filter can also be swapped out and replaced with the factory intake box in combination with the aluminum intake arm for a stealthier look.

Includes:

*re-useable air filter
*Fully aluminized intake pipe
*Adaptor plate
*3-ply hoses
*heavy duty clamps and bolts

GRUPPE-S RETAIL $175 SHIPPED

Without the filter $145 SHIPPED

Question:

I've been researching the intake options and found some threads where people complain of driveablity issues (stalling, bogging, etc...).

Is there any truth to this?

I like the looks of this sytem - and anything to let the car breathe easier has to be good. The price point is very attractive.

Also - how easy is it to install this intake? I'm curious how long it would take the below-average wrencher to install.

Thanks!

There might be some driveability issues when just install the open element intake alone. Because it will throw off the MAF sensor that is equip'd on the car. So to take care of this issue, you can simply go w/ reflash option offered by most vendors to gain the most power out of the open element intake systems whether its HKS or Helix or other brands. And just a heads-up, We will be offering reflashes for this type of mods in about one month.

As for installation, it will take about 1 hour to install as taking off stock intake box and turbo inlet pipe is quite time consuming. I consider myself an novice wrencher, and it took me about 1.5 hours to complete this install.

Thanks
