No springs needed on this DV. Just has to be installed and your good to go

so is this thing basically the same as the Synapse BOV, just smaller?

Yes, I'm 100% happy with it. The APS Twin Vent is no longer made.

well, you just made my decision a lot easier lol. so I should invest in this as opposed to a new stock IX BOV then?

Guess that's up to you. The stock IX DVs are hit and miss at what they'll hold. I've got two stock IX DVs. Both held 25 psi in boost leak tests. I'll sell you one if you want, but for piece of mind, the Synapse wins.
