The Rear struts do not adjust they way described. I actually had to disconnect them from the lower arm bar and rotate it that way, this is for the rear, is that ok? Of is it unsafe??

Like, it is ONE bolt on the bottom, so I disconnected it and dropped the wheel and just rotated the bottom of the strut.

Is there any other way????

To adjust the height as described, you have to loosen the top 19mm bolt. Then loosen the locking collar and then turn the shock body.

BTW...These are great coilovers. I just installed them last week. Ride is not too much stiffer than stock. Definately comfortable. It feels as though I will need to add a bit more preload on the spring than just the weight of the car.

Nope, I was wrong, It was my hotchkins sway bar. Both mounting brackets snapped off and the sway bar is just resting on both rear control arms. You can immagine the sound.

Wow, I think it is not designed to handle a lowered Evo, whiich mine is. It is redicilusly loud too. Only 2 months on the car, less in fact

Nope but that means my coilovers are fine, they handle great, a little harsh but then they are coilovers.

BTW GET THE STREET SETUPS or I swear you'll break you hip.

The brackets broke because they weren't installed correctly. The stock parts that should be added to the Hotchkis parts aren't there. Every failure I've seen so far of this type has been from incorrect installation.

We've run this sway bar since it first came out, into our 2nd season of racing (and thats all our Evo is used for) and no problems, none, zero, nada.

Nope, that is wrong. There is a recall for this problem and specific fixes have been made. It is also curious that the instructions specifically stated not to use the stock mounts, kind of whey they included the new ones, plus the bar being oversized and so how is it gona fit? I love how vendors are so quick to blame the person over the product. Don't get me wrong we have idiots who do dumb things to cars, but when I call the damn company and say I have a problem and they GUESSED IT and TOOK CARE OF IT. All I had to say was "Hi I have a problem with my sway…..OH, ok..., here is my address ….thanks". That they were aware of the problem, there is a specific recall, and they are overnighting new redesigned brackets. GEEE I wonder why they would redesign a part???? It was installed 100% according to the instructions.

Bar worked great when it did though. I still recommend a sway bar, really helps the EVO out.

I've attached an image of what the correct installation should look like. The 'U' shaped bracket that ties the front and rear sides of the bracket system together is what everyone seems to be leaving off. Without it you have nothing!

Test fit your pieces prior to bolting them to the car, check your instructions carefully. Hotchkis has been real good about this issue and have replaced numerous broken brackets for Evo owners that have had failures. They've also changed the design to make installation easier.

Ok guess your right and the Vendor is wrong, whoops, I'll go call them.

Seriously I installed it 100% correct, the part failed, there is a redesigned part for this reason, they told me specifically that it fails.

BTW that's EXACTLY how it was installed before it snapped off. IDk what to tell you, thanks for the input but you are 100% wrong

For Hotchkis sway bar owners interested in another documented example of human error check the NorCalEvo.net forums suspension section and you’ll find a cohort of mine with the same problem, vtluu is his handle. In that thread Tam was good enough to go back, read the instructions and confirm what I was saying was true. He also took the time to thank us for helping him out before he totaled his car.

There’s nothing wrong with making a mistake, just be man enough to admit it.
