Here is a link to the thread I’m referring to for owners of the Hotchkis rear sway bar with the original mounting system-

Tam has deleted some of the original photos he posted but he is a good guy and I’m sure if anyone is interested he’ll confirm that what we say here is true and correct.

And here is yet another example where a few good men point out they made a mistake and try to warn others what to watch out for-

And don't try to put words in my mouth umiami, I didn't say anything about Hotchkis, I said YOUR the one thats wrong, YOU. Seems you read peoples comments the same way you read instructions, HALFASS!

What RT says is true, you have to be very precise in how you assemble the bracket. Problem is that not all of those brackets are equal. This has (I hope) been my issue.

Yet another example-

I think I've posted enough for people to understand the point, install the parts wrong and you'll have a failure. And since a picture speaks a 1000 words (most of which umiami hasn't read) I'm sure they can see that you never did the installation correct to begin with.
It also shows what a good company Hotchkis really is, regardless of the nature of the failure they will see to it that the customer is always taken care of.

As a non-biased third party reading this discussion I do not know who is correct, simply because the pictures of the broken mount of not of sufficient quality to see if you are using the stock "U-shaped" bracket under the Hotchkis L-brackets.
Regardless of who is right or wrong - please be sure to use the stock U bracket (as specified in the directions from Hotchkis) with the new beefier L-brackets, otherwise they will break again.
Good luck and enjoy the sway bar!

The new brackets are almost twice as thick as the original design. I don't expect to have any more problems. Great products and I will definitely buy more from Hotchkis!! Thanks!

Does anyone have pics of the old design brackets next to the new design. I just got my bar a couple weeks ago and will be installing it soon and I want to know what brackets I have with mine. Thats assuming they will be shipping the better brackets with the later production runs. I really dont want to put it on then have the mounts fail, I would rather get the new verions first. I will be going on a trip to Deals gap in a few weeks and I dont want stuff breaking on a roadtrip and end up with an ill handling car. Thanx

Wow anyway i can help? I will be more than happy to. Hotchkis is taking care of any broken brackets with the new designs. Most have not had a problem with the old brackets. We track the **** out of an EVO with there springs and swaybars with the old brackets and have never had one problem with them. However, some people were complaining that they we having problems so Hotchkis improved the brackets they used. I would not call it a recall as most people are not having problems with them it’s just a few for some reason. Could be a batch run problem or and installation issue. Either way all I have to add is that Hotchkis has done an amazing thing they took care of a problem with their swaybars that only a hand full of people were having. My hat is off to those guys try to get Cusco to take responsibility or Greddy for a production mess-up they will probably laugh at you on the phone then hang up and say oh well.
HKSMX6GT do you still have your box? There is a date stamped on it that will signify which brackets you have.

I do still have the box and there is no date printed anywhere. The hardware I got looks pretty beefy but they also look exectly like the broken brackets in the pictures Ive seen so far. I will just get it on there and see what happens.
