not over 4krpm first 400 miles, not over 5k another 300, no constant speed, no real hard acceleration... I drove it like I would a rather large truck, very smoothly. Right when I hit 800 miles, I changed all the fluids, then gave it hell. Prolly had it up to 110 or so. Some people say give it hell right as you get it, others say break it in softly. No one knows for sure, though.

ok, it was 130 not 150 i've been up to, but no one at the dealer said anything about break-in. And there were no stickers on the car advising as such, my 91 BMW did. what were the rules i broke?
You're going straight to hell now.!!!!!!

Lol There is a breakin proceedure they have in the book.

This is a very contraversial topic here. Some say to do it with regular motor oil and then switching over.

However I would not woory too much. I broke mine in using a little bit of a different method: Getting up to the specified RPMS and then backing off and letting the cars engine brake and slow you down. then raising the rpms and doing this repeatedly.

Once your rings and what not have seated youre ok.

what's a bobby car? excuse my ignorance....

if i break something i want to do it now, when i can get it fixed under warranty. Once i mod it up, no dealer will ever see it. so i guess im a breakitinthewayyouregonnadriveit person. My buddy (and i) took his Sti home from the dealer that way, he's up to 12000 trouble-free, high speed miles. Wish me luck!
