I guess I spoke too soon. After I got home from the car wash and oil change (hit 7500 miles ) I noticed a nice ding in my passengers side rear door!!!!! Damn SUVs!!! No scratch or crack in the paint...its just so irritating since my car was dent free until now. Guess I need to give the dent wizard a call. Anyone else got any other ideas?

Same here. Today, after a carwash, I saw a small mark on the rear passenger door. What a irritating feeling. Need to calm down now.. whhooossahhhh...

I got a nickel size door ding a few months back. I was at Best Buy parked way out in the boonies and while walking to the store, I see a Dodge truck pulling up next to my passenger side. When I got out, the truck was gone and a Caprice was parked really close to my passenger side. I inspected the car and found the ding on the passenger front door side.

I had it fixed by one of those dentless paint repair. You can't see the dent looking straight at it. You have to look at like from the side and even then it is barely noticeable.

Just FYI...When the paintless dent repair guy was fixing my dent, he was fixing it from the bottom window seal. He said that he couldn't really get the angle and he had to drill on the latch side of the door. It later turned out that he was not able to utilize the hole he drilled due to the parts inside and just fixed the dent from the window seal. He covered the hole with a rubber seal and looks stock. So just in case y'all get your door dings fixed, drilling is not necessary.

So far, so good...no door dents to my daily driver/year old Evo! (knock, knock).

I ALWAYS try and park out in the middle of nowhere. The few times I've had to park "with everyone else" I lucked out I guess. In lots where carts can be found I always check and see if there are any carts around that could possibly roll/be pushed into my car and if so I move them (yes, some moron could come out with one as soon as I walk away but at least I'm eliminating the possibility of a shopping cart convention against my car for the most part).

I don't understand why people say "It's just a car, get over it". I paid a s h i t load of money for this car and spend a lot of time keeping it clean and looking nice. Why shouldn't I get upset when some dillhole doesn't take the time to hold their door when getting in/out of their vehicle on a windy day, or some **** in a SUV desides to park right on my door in the car space that was paved years ago for "normal" sized cars. Hell yeah I'm gonna make a big deal out of it!

No dings here yet. I put a blanket on my evo everynight and park miles away. I think i would get so pissed off I'd throw rocks at random people if it got a ding in it anywhere...I'd probably pee on them too.

I have one door ding on the rear passenger side door, another on the driver side fender, a one inch scratch from my daughters bicycle (she was attempting to squeeze her bike between my evo and truck) and several rock chips on the front bumper......unless you want to keep your car in a plastic bubble, minor woes are inevitable.

there's quite a difference between being annoyed at stuff that you have no control over, and having a stroke over little dents. what do you do if a little rock hits you on the hwy? it's just not worth the bother in the end, because sh*t happens and you move on. it's a car, it ages, it shows wear and tear more than most things out there. it goes through rain, snow, dirt, dust, pebbles, stones, scorching heat, etc. etc., so of course something's going to happen at some point. even if you miss all of that, a car could hit you, or you hit a car... i say "it's just a car" because while yes, i did pay a lot for it, there are lots of things i can't control and even if it sucks to have little dents, scratches and dings, just move on--it's not like i can't continue enjoying the driving experience.

No door dings, but somehow I got a ding on my hood right on the line that goes from the front to the back of the hood...

I've come to the conclusion as long as there are people and I drive my EVO daily, it will never stay perfect!

Why take up two spaces if you are far away? It's true door dings sucks. I wonder if anyone use that "hokey" ding king gadget?

I was searching through some old threads and found this. It is only about a month old but I wanted to comment.

Please be very careful when you choose a PDR guy (or gal). If you get one that is new to the industry they can flat out destroy your body panel, paint, ect. from not knowing how to properly take a dent out. I got a dent on my old 03 evo from some stupid chick at my old job 2 years agao...like a month after I bought the car. Parked like 2 feet from me, and she had a monte carlo. Well everyone knows monte carlo doors are long and heavy. Well this thing put a quarter size dent in my body panel and was fairly deep. This was on my passenger front door. I had a friend who is a PDR guy and he tried for like 2 hours to get it out and could not. Well I called another friend up who owns a body shop and he told me to use the PDR guy that does the work for the exotic import dealership here in town. I swear this guy took 10 minutes and fixed everything the first guy messed up and got everything else out. It was just amazing. He just dropped everything and started working on my car when I showed up. Gave him 40 bucks and was on my way happier than ever! That day I learned there are some that do the PDR trade and some that KNOW the PDR trade...so be very careful when choosing!
