Door Dings!!
I didn't fill like reading all the post... paintless dent removal is the way to go if you can find a good person.. my sister's b/f is an 8 year senior tech at a company called dent wizard. he does it all day long.. he's taken a few dings out of my evo. and it's amazing how good he is... just be carefull of who does it.. make sure you can see some of there work or recomendations. as far as parking goes.. always try to find a curb to park close to.. I know if I have to park in a mall, shopping center, or any parking lot. I just find one of the little island curbs to park as close as possible to. they usually have a 8"-10" caution area so you don't get to close. I always try to park against them as close as possible... it usually allows me to open my driver side door as far as I need to. and I don't have to worry about the passenger side, because it's pulled against the curb. just my .02 cents.

I have three door dings in the right rear door, one in the right side door, one on the left rear door, one on the hood (some rock decided to play).
I only park on end spots, and I still have these. I want to remove them this spring.

PDR does work. I had it done twice. All from car door dings. The guy
did it without any disassembly. The Evo sheet metal is really thin and pliable so it is easier to manipulate vs American cars. Just make sure the guy who does it has a shop to work in with the flourescent lighting. The guys who do it outside could not do the best job because of the lighting conditions.

I had one door ding due to my wife opening her door into the side of my car in the garage. We took it to Dent Wizard and they fixed it for us in less than 10 minutes, and now it looks as good as new.
I've had my car for almost a year...no door dings. My last car for 3yrs only one. Here's what I do: I always look for big places or ends where I can park next to the curb real close. Otherwise I park out far...but not too far and I don't take up two places...that's just asking for someone to come key your car. The most important secret is this, really watch out on windy days! If it's windy, take your time and find a REALLY good place. The wind catches peoples door and causes them to hit you. That's when most dings occur. People usually don't mean to, but when the wind flings their door into you, they're like oh well, the wind did it. So, remember, windy days are the key. Also rainy days too, when people open their door real quick. Just my 2c on keepin' a clean ride.
