Body Modifications Worth it?
Body kits, no point. Usually just add weight. I've been tryin to focus on performance alone, but I've got a little sidetracked purchasing a c/f hood, MR headlights, and Evo 7 tails, and mudflaps for the winter. But I have purchased a turbo back exhaust (first mod) and an ARC intercooler, which I got a killer deal on. I really love how my car looks now, I think the only other cosmetic things I'd do is a do-luck lip, and some Ganador or Ralliart mirrors. But now I realize that I could use a reflash and I'm looking to get swaybars, strut tower braces and coilovers. So more performance it is.
I think the only looks mod that needs to be done is replacing the stock taillights, just because the stock ones are so awful.
Good luck on modding, just don't kill yourself while doin it

20,performance is my main focus right now. I plan on keeping the car for a while. I'll eventually have it repainted because the dealership thought they new how to buff and my car looks like it's been buffed with an S.O.S pad. I think I might go wild with it, if I have the money, and do the APR wide body kit. that would be the only kit that I would even consider. the Gialla, and c-west front bumpers look good, but I don't think I'll ever just do a front bumper. the APR wide body kit is just freakin insane. I couldn't image drivering a fast wide-body evo. I know there car looks incredible, with out all the graphics.

Well.. my car got a new paint job.. Other than that and a new set of wheels and coil overs that's pretty much what is shown to the people as far as exterior mods.. I am more into performance stuff right now.. By the way I also played with my interior a bit.. I added some black swad leather on the interior roof because that silver stuff just looks to cheap..hehe..wanted to give my evo that class... hehe..
I think you have to make it yours. Wether performance or looks. I want to set my car apart, but I don't want anything too flashy or different. The look of the car is almost perfect as is. I've blacked out the tails, and got a perrin shorty antenna, but I also want to get the windows tinted, lower it, and get some wheels and tires. Maybe some MR headlights, but thats it. Other then that, I'd put my money under the hood.

Focus on performance, add functional body mods.. Race cars look like race cars for a reason.. And its not for looks.

Just turned 20. I voted no, but only that I think they can be pointless on a sports car. BUT, also depends. I am almost all done for performance mods. I sold my 03 Evo and got the MR and that was basically set. All I need now is Camshafts and gears, and I sold my 03 with the twin plate in it so twin plate again, head studs, rod bolts, and my injectors again. Then I can get special things like N-tercooler, nitrous for spoolup, and alcohol injection, but don't need. Would like but still. All other parts I have including two turbos in boxes on my bedroom floor deciding which will go on the MR.
BUT I got cut off couple weeks back and went into a jersey barrier at about 70 when I jacked my brakes and slid. Then 180ed into an overpass wall. They did not want to total the car. Rear end was snapped and the bar was sticking in the ground. Exterior quote was 11k and whatever underneith will be. But I will end up doing some body work from the money. Hood, Rims/tires, front and rear bumper. MR Heads and Tails. But would I do it if it wasn't for the accident? Maybe when I picked up my last performance parts I listed. Yeah obviously parts won't ever end, like I could switch from UTEC to EMS to remove MAF or get Jacks way of removing it, HKS DLI, Sweitzers Coil on Plug Ignition, stuff like that but hey.
It is all up to you man, you in it for speed, looks, handling. Depends. I go Speed, and looks will be coming only because of this or else I would have gone to handling. Only have STech springs, I would love to get a nice set of Coilovers, strut bar, sway bar, and under braces.

24. I've always tried to maintain a balance between esthetics and performance. I'm adding a body kit due to accident damage, which I wouldn't have otherwise done. I've tinted my windows and lowered the car, but more importantly, I've added custom paint and wheels. It has helped to make the car completely unique to me and my personality, and I wouldn't change that for anything. I would recommend finding a balance of what is important to you, as any mod is a direct reflection of who you are. Do whatever makes you proud of your ride, because you drive an Evo, damnit!

I think exterior styling of the car is almost as important as performance mods. The reason I think that so many people don't like doing exterior mods is because of all the ricers in civics who go out and buy a 100ft roll of wire loom and a bodykit and then go around town wot. But I really love watching a car that was bone stock take shape into your personal dream car. I will not be done with my car until I change everything on it to my own personal preferance. I spend hours browsing websites looking at everything there is to look at and vision a car that I would love to create. The evo is a very fast car and I LOVE adding more and more go fast parts but I love doing mods that totaly change and transform a car.
All the above is MY personal preferance, everyone has one!
