Body Modifications Worth it?

I was just wondering the overal consensus of the evom board. +Oh and also age would be interesting as well i'm 16. Of course everyone has their own opinion, voice it. Just don't bash others for what they believe.

Anyways my question to everyone is as the title states: are body modifications worth it? I always think about things that I can get such as mr headlight/taillights, wheels, jdm rear bumper, etc.. but then I always end up thinking "Wait... why am I doing this again?". Yeah it looks hot, but it isn't going to make me go faster or increase the value of my car. So at this point i'm at a stand-still. I already have some "go" [vishnu stage 1+; and I plan to continue that route to a stage 3 most likely], but should I save some money for "show"?

For me right now it is not worth it to me to do any type of mody mod. I have a very limited budget so I prefer to spend it on performance. Oh, I am 17.

Im 24 and Im not really a fan of body kits on the evo. I like the car as is but changing the wheels and adding coilovers is probably the most I will do to change the looks on my car. CF lips, hoods, trunks, and body kits doesnt appeal to me. I do like under body diffusers for performance but not really for looks. If there are some wide fenders that doesnt look too aggressive I would probably get those so I can run wider tires.

18, and after all the performance mods, I think it's TOTALLY worth it, after performance mods that I'd want...but it also depends on how much you're going into it and your definition of body mods...a full body kit isn't worth it, but changing a few things to look unique is cool, looking unique is the key though

I'm 16 this coming March and I say it looks aggresive enough from the factory...maybe a lip spoiler, but then it would be too low for chicago streets. Plus, most of the aftermarket kits don't suit my tastes; the only true way I'd change the looks of an Evo 8 would be by putting Evo 9 bumpers on

EDIT: I thought this only applied to aftermarket bodykits and what not. If we're talking rims and painting headlights and tail lights(which is basically DIY), then I'm for that. I think the stockl tail lights need to go the moment an owner gets the car...JDM VII tails are much cleaner.

I wouldn't mind getting 18's and coilovers if I had the money . I wouldn't change a thing on the Evo's body, although wider fenders would look pretty Hot.

22...pretty much agree with what most people said...i think it looks aggressive enough...maybe lower it a bit and change the wheels, but i think that it looks ok after that

I say yeah, why not? It's just another way of personalizing your car to your own tastes. I'm not into really wild body mods on this car though, some nice aftermarket wheels, front lip... I'm not a fan of wild graphics. Oh, I'm 22.

Body mods are worthless unless they are in some way ENHANCING the performance of the car.. No point in a carbon fiber hood that weighs the same as stock or more.. Or wheels that slow the car down because their heavier.. Or a body kit that has no aerodynamic value..

Focus on performance, add functional body mods.. Race cars look like race cars for a reason.. And its not for looks.

exactly.....which mods are worth it is totally relative to the owner's perspective on what he thinks is worth it. I am 27. I got the car about a month ago, and so far I have blacked out headlights, tint, blitz drop in filter, blitz turbo timer, and s2k antenna. The exterior mods were definitely worth it to me.

There are good mods to do but lots of bad mods. An aftermarket front bumper, unless you have been in an accident is a waist of money. Same thing with any kind of bodykit.. you dont need a body kit on an evo, it already stands out already.. its not like there are tons of evos everwhere.

All the JDM Mods are great. I love the look of my car so much better after adding Evo VII tails and black UK badging, Vortex Generator.. All of these are OEM parts and flow with the car really well. The car gets alot more positive looks then it did before. After doing lots of performance mods, I probably would have been happy just getting a flash and only doing working on the appearance of the car.

If it doesn't add any performance. I don't want it. Then there is this wide body kit that's out there almost available.........
