Stock wastegate actuator split on me
The car is 2 years old with 23k miles on it. Just by looking at it
the metal looks cheap. I haven't heard this happening to anyone
else so I'll chalk this up to a build issue.

Here's the replacement part. Forge Motorsport.

I'm not sure exactly when it happened. First thing I noticed was I wasn't holding steady high boost. Kept spiking. Thought it was a disconnected hose. turned out it was the actuator. Replacement was $170.00 shipped overnight. He gave me a great deal. It's a nice looking piece, serviceable and gauranteed for life.

Yeah, there's a release on Mitsu's tech program about the '03 Evos and how some of them may have faulty actuators... it would be covered for free if you took it to Mitsu
I thought that was what my problem was (I'm running a whopping 15psi with ZERO leaks) but it wasn't but we talked all about it

I didn't realy know to check the actuator. All I did was slightly tug on the air hose that connected to it. To my suprise the actuator was moving around like a bobble head.
i spiked to 22.5 psi the other day, this kinda worrys me.. im gonna go try and see if i can see anything just by looking at it... anything special to look at besides the wastegate actuator....
*edit*.. i just peeked at it and it looks perfectly fine.. almost brand new.. its prolly ok...

a quick way to check your actuator is get a bicycle pump with a pressure gauge
connect it to your actuator and pump in a few psi (dont go over stock boost. you can just pump in like 5psi)
the actuator should hold the pressure.
if it doesnt, then you probably have a problem
the only gripe i have with the forge is (as you can see from the pictures above)
the nipple in is slightly bigger than the stock.
it just makes squeezing the hose on a little more challenging.
