your experiences with cf companies

i am currently using a fiber images cf trunk and i love the look of the cf trunk but i have tried everything to try to make this trunk sit completely flush. it sits about 1/4" high and i have tried everything possible to make it sit correctly. so i was wondering if anyone has had good fitment with any other cf products they have used on their evo's. i am not trying to start a flame war about wich company is better i just want to know of any good fittments so i can buy another trunk.

i have the vis cf trunk. to make it sit correctly i had to cut the two cross bars that make the trunk stay open. the downside is you have to hold the trunk open, but it looks perfect closed. justin

Hey what a coincidence I just installed my VIS Carbon Fiber trunk and had the same problem.

Okay so you know the locking part? Not the mechanism but the actual soft steel piece on the car. Anyways, what I did was dremel the holes on the piece that the bolts go into to elongate them allowing me to lower the piece. As for me the side that was high was the right so I tightened it accordingly so the latch is actually lower on the right then the left. I know this is hardly making any sense.. sorry but you'll get it. Also I made a small washer using balsa haha. Good luck!

i didn't get the front lip, don't really just wanna open bash, but after posting up a fairly good answer to a few questions i asked, i bought a piece to see how it was.... well, if i want it to fit, i'm gonna have to dremel the holes a bit.

and the claim that it'd be overly expensive to make the piece out of solid carbon, (which i thought it was) is a total flop.

Wait you're kind of confusing me.. so the carbing front lip isn't full carbon like the do-luck?

btw i'll post some pics tomorrow if I have time that shows the mods that need to be done. i'm def. not going to take it apart but at least i'll show you what's up.
