Dishes don't work well with the EVO because the brakes are HUGE and hard to fit over. So the base of the dish would have to fit over the brake calipers. Then to have an actual decent size dish, the dish would have to extend even farther out than the base is. That takes up so much space that anyone who wanted to do it would need a widebody kit which runs in excess of 3 grand, and plus installation, will run you a rediculous amount of money.

As for not many 19's, most people got into the EVO for pretty much all performance. So they go with something smaller than 19's, like 18's or 17's, but still reallllllly wide to use wide rubber. Wide rims and tires=traction. "big" rims= heavy unfortunately, which is bad for performance.

Yea but 19" TE37s are not that much heavier then a lot of the 18" rims on the market

so there you have it function + fit while looking badass.. ive done some hw so i know it can be done...

Agreed.... 19's are pretty huge.. but as i posted awhile back.. i guess that would answer " Dishes don't work well with the EVO because the brakes are HUGE and hard to fit over. So the base of the dish would have to fit over the brake calipers. Then to have an actual decent size dish, the dish would have to extend even farther out than the base is." thus forcing a low offset ...which is actully possible i think up to a +27... but you'd probably have to ride a thinner tire ..."streched" w/ a little bit negative camber....

again.. a big rim does not always = heavy rims... u'd be amazed how light forged rims can be if u actully spend the money .... but M3this has already posted on that

and performance... like i said..i know..... it doent make you car.. go light speed.. and you wont gain a million hp... Again.. this is a "show n shine" not a comparison of dyno charts...

i hope this answers some of your negative percautions toward something different... large, heavy rims, that dont fit over the brembos that make your car "perform" poor-sliverevo8owner

i mean its fine by me you can ride your 13x6.5" pizzia cutters.. all day long.. as far as im concerned..as long as it makes you fast.. right?...... i started this thread so i could see something different....

hey, since you have done some HW on this do you think you can get a 19x9.5 wheel all the way around???? What offset would you run to get it 1) to fit and 2) get a nice lip ?

I know you can get the TE37 in +22, +34, +35, +43, +45 offsets

i'd go w/ the 19x9.5 +35.. if its to close to the Brembo's ... try the +34... the +22 would stick out to far ... most likely rub.. and as far at the +43 and +45... im sure it would sit to close to the brakes.. but dont quote me on that.. i'd try the +35.. to be safe +34....

yeah thats another reason why i started this tread.. im in the same boat.. i'd like to have feedback from the guys that have actually done.. it... saying is saying.. ive done hw but .. actually having these wheels on your car is another thing.. trying to save myself money b/c its rare.. and joe blow at the car shop wants to be safe..so he can move his inventory... he doesnt want to risk overstocking rims that dont fit on your car..just so you can be unique.... dont wanna have to buy multiple rims just to get it right.. if i can get free info..

I totallly agree.

Check these out:

These are 19x8.5 with +22 offsets .... I like how they look but 1) would like a bigger lip and two would like to get the widest possible wheel on the car.

i'd love to see more... man i dont know that guy but ..i know he changes rims like he changes his underwear... im guessing he couldnt go wider b/c of the +22 offset..

i guess it works just cant go wide w/ the +22 b/c the wheel sits out to far..

there's a couple guys on here running 10" wide wheels.. but .. its kinda confusing.. for dish..

you can go wide.. but that doesnt mean you'd have a dish.. you'd probably have a higher offset.. to fit those wide weels.. there has to be some kinda of balance.. hard to explain..

if you want a dish go buy a supra. Our cars are AWD with a offset that doesnt allow much of a dish.
