Evo9 Front Bumper effects on Aftermarket IC?

Since the bumper's ic opening appears to be optimized for stock ic, do you guys think it will have a huge effect on a bigger aftermarket intercooler's airflow?

Would it affect a HKS Type R intercooler?

Your IC still extends behind the bumper to the sides which do not get airflow wasting the point of having a larger width intercooler

It will still cool down the incoming hot air better than the stock one

Well it'll still cool it but since some of the surface area of the IC is covered by the bumper the heat might rise and thats what i was worried about.

yes it will cool down the charge air, but it wont be as efficient as it would be with air directly entering the surface...

why spend 800-900 just to lose efficency of a larger intercooler though, the only adv is the core is probably a bit deeper, otherwise the surface area is almost the same as stock.

Because with a larger intercooler I can safely run more boost on the stock turbo. I'm running Alcohol Injection, boosting 26psi the result is 380whp on the stock 9.8 03 turbo
