Is anyone running the cobb ic piping kit with an aftermarket ic? I like the cobb kit because it looks to be the most complete kit, but i would like to run it with the perrin stealth black ic, is anyone running a aftermarket ic with them?

I tried to install the cobb i/c piping with my perrin intercooler and it didnt work. The lower i/c pipe sits a little bit higher than the inlet on the intercooler, so the intercooler was tweaking and looked real off. I sent the pipes back unfortunately... the plus side is the stealth intercooler is sweet! Here's a pic of it installed and compared to the stocker.

What I/C pipe kit did you end up getting? Thats weird that the Cobb ones didn't fit. Especially since they don't even have their own intercooler out. Any pics on how off it was?

I didn't buy any other i/c kit yet but I was looking at the nisei kit because I know of another member that has that setup. I should have taken some but by that time frustration and 1 am i wasn't thinking about that. They were off about a half inch to an inch, the perrin intercooler also has a long bracket that bolts into the underside of the frame which also prevented any sort of play. The stock intercooler sits higher than the perrin intercooler so I think the intent for the cobb pipes is really meant for stock intercooler, but that doesnt mean that it wont work with other intercoolers. Here's a pic of the backside of the intercooler with the bracket its on the bottom.

Looks tons better with the black IC, really cleans up the front end.

OP - ETS has a black intercooler kit. Thats what I would recommend.
