The road noise isn't that bad. Worst thing is hearing every rock that hits the car and being reminded i don't have mudflaps on yet.
As far as the drag, these mirrors are smaller and have less surface area that air is able to hit and drag on. Its not huge but its something. Plus its less weight off the front/side/ very high on the car. Taking weight off any of those areas improves cornering. Again not a huge amount but every bit adds up.

Any more people interested in a interior stipping tutorial. Theres a crap load of stuff inside so i would have to create a large post, but theres alot of stuff i had to figure out how to take off but if there aren't many people wanting to strip their car i don't wanna waste my time.

wish there was a knowledgeable aerodynamisysts on the list. though I think there is a bit a black magic in their explainations.
I just don't know if that style is less drag. sure it is smaller but now you have four sides and the mounting tube to drag. at any rate guessing we are not talking about many pounds anyway.

It looks good! more power to ya.

the apr doesn't have a lhd mirrow?

Fluid dynamics is very much black magic. Most of the knowledge is gained through experimentation because it is too complicated for models.

That said, when you look at it from a basic model, drag is created from projected surface area. Stock the area is nice and blocky, roughly a flat plate. The APR's are much smaller interms of surface area. The drag created by the post is not significant.

I am a Mechanical Engineer. Fluids isn't my deal, but the mirror issue is basic enough.

Has anyone found a use for the hole where the OEM mirror switch goes once non-electric mirrors (like the APR's) are installed?

I've been thinking about getting them but want to fill that hole with something.

Are these APR's bolt-on or need "customized"?

could you do a big, round autometer shiftlight? Or a custom carbonblock-off plate?
