The % measures the amt of light the tint allows through. If you got 65% or 80% tint you're not going to notice it. 50% is legal in CT if that tells you anything. I had 35% on my si and wish I would have went with 20%.

5% is normally called limo tint. It's usually the darkest you can find, although I've found and used 3% before!

Pretty common is 5% around the back 3 windows, sometimes 20%. Then 35% or 50% on the front windows.

It depends on if you have any laws in your state and how dark you want it. Also, don't skimp on the material of the tint. I had a Mustang that someone tinted the sides like limo tint, and it was sooo dark from the inside I had to roll the windows down at night to look both directions! Good tint should just block out sunlight, but still be easy to see out.

What I did:
5% on back glass and back windows. 35% on front sides.

^^ Note the above pics were took when it was overcast, so it looks alot darker. It was raining about 2 hours later.

Here's my old 03. 5% around the back windows. None on the front:

So have you gotten pulled over yet? In wisconsin i think its 35% on the side windows, and 50% in back. I had 20% all around and have never gotten pulled over for it....yet.

My car above is 20% all the way around, in CO you can have any shade on the back 3 windows and 27% or lighter on the front, I figure the naked eye wont see the difference between 20% and 27%, plus cops out here are cool, they don't hassle you

This is an old picture and a new picture. Old one first directly from the side. And the new one is angled. But the percentage on the window tint is 14% reflective. This is not mirrored...but reflective. It changes the way it looks at different angles. I have never been harrased for my windows yet (knock on wood)

I've been thinking about getting some reflective tint (NOT mirror) on my car. I think that it would look good on my silver evo.

My dad has a reflective tint on his silver E55, and it looks nice. I havent found a place around here that has the exact tint that he has, but I've got a few more places to check.

Does anyone know if tint prices go up in the summer? I was thinking about waiting until then.

I think reflective on Silver would also looks nice. The reason I did it on black was to kinf of offset the car so that it wasn't all black. Give it a little bit of color.

I have never heard of that but I could be wrong. The difference between reflective and mirror is very minor. Mirror looks just as it says. It looks like you are looking at a mirror but it looks kind of cheap. The reflective will look black from certain angles and reflective at other angles. The mirrored looks mirrored from every angle and would not look good on any color of the evo's....of course my opinion.

I haven't had any side effects....loss of radio....or anything like that.

does anyone have the lips at the top of the windows where the tint ends and normal widow begins? Is there any way to prevent this from happening?

I just got my Evo tinted yesterday using Madico Graphite tint with 35% in the front and 20% in the rear and I'm kind of not liking it. It has a slight gold reflection to it from the outside and to me that's a no no on my graphite gray Evo. I figured since it was called "graphite" it would match. It looked like it would when it wasn't on the car too.

Stuff like this bothers me. I'd hate to have it pulled off because of the color but it's going to drive me crazy. Anyone know of a brand of tint that would definatley 100% match my GG Evo?
