Repairing Carbon Fiber

How practical is it to fix a cf lip? i hit a pothole today and it chipped the clear pretty good and ripped some mounting points. overall the thing is still in one piece, just scratched and chipped so i may end up painting it tarmac blk to match the car if i have to, but i'd rather try to get this fixed i assume a body shop could just sand down the clear and respray it?

Good question, as I did the exact same thing on my Varis CF lip late last year. Mine is still on the car even though it's in bad shape.

depends on if the cf is cracked. if it is, i don't think it can be fixed without overlaying the whole thing in cf again.. if it is just scratched, a wet sand and clear coat should do the trick. if it is cracked at just the mounting spots (not visible) it can probably be fiberglassed back into shape and painted in just that area...

I'd make sure the body shop has good experience with carbon fiber first
