Swapping stock sound system to Infinity factory

Hey I'm lookig to replace my stock sound system in my Evo to the factory Infinity system. Is there much fo a difference between the two? How easy ro hard is the install and is there anything special I should know before performing this? I know people will prolly say go aftermarket but I'd rather have a little bit better stereo and stuff that all looks stock. I don't care for many of the aftermarket head units.

it would be easier to just do an aftermarket! I am in the process of replacing my stock Infinity system now. I just replaced my HU and sub and added a CD changer. the infinity speakers are paper cone like stock. prolly just a higher quality cheap speaker. then to run the infinity system, ur HU will only run 5 wires and a plug type cable that combines the remote lead and dual RCA connections from the HU to the amp. then all ur speakers come off a factory style connection from ur amp, to include ur sub. if ur not worried about sound, stay stock. if u are looking for better quality, do aftermarket. it'll most likely be cheaper versus buying all the Infinity stuff from the dealer IMO. if ur set on the infinity, i have the sub and deck for sale if you want them. still using the amp and internals for a little longer. bout to do a performance push on my evo. any ?s just email me lancersibling@yahoo.com.

Isn't this the correct forum?

Just get aftermarket stereo stuff from www.crutchfield.com
If you buy a head end unit, they will give you a wiring harness that plugs right into your existing connections.

I'm not looking to spend very much so I'd rather avoid the aftermarket route and I'd rather have speakers and such which were designed to fit my car and nothing fits better than the OEM stuff. I'm sure I can find someone who doesn't want their infinity stuff anymore and can get a much cheaper deal going that route.
