I love how Lancer guys get so defensive when someone makes fun of their cars.

There is much more that is NOT common b/w the Evo and Lancer than there is. The two cars are built for two completely different purposes and markets. One is arguably the best performance cars out for the money and the other is the worst possible, ugliest car you can buy in its class.

 

^^ I agree, but it's still no reason to bash someone's car! now if the dude had one of those big aluminum wings, like so many civics, then there would be a problem, but in the end it would still be his car! Besides there is a difference in trying to be an EVO and being LIKE an EVO. I for one don't like the look of the VIII I prefer the look of the VII The VI was ok and the ones before that were decent, but the VII was the look I liked the best. I'd give up my Lancer in a minute if I could afford to, but fact is the economy is crap right now and I'm in school to get another degree while helping to raise a child, which warrants getting another job in itself. You other father's know what I'm talking about. Shoot once I get done with school, I'll be buying my daughter more stuff than I do now! LOL! The only thing I don't like about the car is it is red, but for that matter I don't like any car that is red or any shade of red. Not even an EVO! If I had one handed to me me I would have it painted another color or would not take it at all if another color was not possible. It's nothing against his taste, but I'll just say I might not be here today or have a family if the was more red on the truck that hit me a few years ago. Back on topic, yeah his car will be straight when he gets some rims on it! Some black ones with a nice silver lip should work just fine!

I can see where you're coming from - but guess what, I'm not insulting your situation, I'm insulting the car you bought. In the same shoes, you should've bought a Civic or Corolla...much better car for the money than a Lancer.

 

I'm not a fan of that stuff either but it looks more tasteful than an Evo 7 kit on a Lancer.

THE NEW LANCER IS UGLY. That is my main grief with those pics. I like the Evo V conversion in the other thread.

 

I guess you have never driven a regular lancer. But let's end this now, just give your opinion on the evo and the lancer and leave, don't bash.

Well then, have you driven a civic, corolla? You can't honestly say a civic or a corolla is better than a lancer. Not to mention that a Lancer will own both of those cars on the turns but it's also faster in a straight line. But sure, whatever floats your boat man.

 

Have driven all 3, extensively. Civic and Corolla are head and shoulders above a Lancer.

Don't know about your performance ratings they're very questionable at best. Civic is definitely a better handler, but neither of the 3 cars are speed demons.

Your car EVOLVED from a regular Lancer. Just face it. You can stop hating now. And yes, I do agree that my OZ Rally is in fact slower than your car. But nonetheless I am happy with it.

Here's a tidbit of accurate information to battle DENIAL. Your car, overall, is one of the worst cars on the road.

It sucks how everything that I hate about the Evo is due to the fact that it is based on a Lancer: crappy quality, crappy interior, crappy paint, and so on. If you take the performance of the Evo away from it, guess what? It is a crappy car - like the Lancer.
