A related (maybe dumb) question. What do you do to keep sand and salt out of your bindings during drives to and from the mountain, or is it just a good cleaning when you get back home? I've got a Thule box for my wife's truck, but I'd like to put a rack on the Evo, too. Just worried about having the skis and bindings exposed on the 3 hour drive from central CT to southern VT

I usually flip my board upside down when I drive up to the mountain and since I have a fairing, it helps keep the stuff off the bindings. oh, and it doesn't hurt to clean em when you get home too...

Yup, my windscreen blocks most debris, and I flip my board upside down as well.

And staying out of deserts helps too.

Get the windscreen/fairing, it'll keep crap off of everything and decrease noise as well.

does this kit also apply to bikes?

i used to take the front wheel off and set it in the trunk but one day i guess during a hard turn the handle bars managed to place a dent in my quater panel..so now i usually place the bike complete in the back seat with a blanket...only worry is my leather getting marks and stuff

anyone here have a pic with their bike and rack installed?

yes the yakima kit has attachments for bikes, as well as snowboards, skis, kayaks, cargo boxes, cargo baskets, and other fun stuff. not cheap attachments though.
