show me your evo with roof rack
I just bought the yakima one. It takes a minute to put on and take off so it'll only be on my car when I need to use it. I have an MR so the thule rack is not an option for me, and the feet on the rack sit on the steel part of the roof, so it's really not a problem having the aluminum roof.
can someone list the required parts and part numbers of the yakima roof rack please...
I need all parts for the rack and a good place to purchase
the link here has no evolution listed in the build a rack section
thanks

there arent any Yakima dealers local, all Thule but he wants Yakima as most of his attachments are Yakima

You can try '2004' and the Evo shows up. Bear in mind that if you have an MR only Yakima racks will work, Thule won't work because it uses the factory clips (which the MR doesn't have).
I want one also, its pain in the butt to get Snowboard in my car without scretching anything. ! LINK please! :-) also iam putting my mud flaps back when it will get ****ty outside and putting winter tires back on
Anyone that has a Yakima set up. I have oe simple question for you: What snow mounts do you have? I've been lookig at Yakima's website at the different ones, but I'm clueless when it comes to these things. I want the one that carries the most snowboards possible (3-4 boards). If you have a Yakima (or any other brand), I would appreciate your opinion on the best snow mount. thanks.
I'm still in the market for a rack, and still not sure which way to go.
Looking on RackAttack's site, their "auto-configure" feature recommends Yakima towers that don't use the rain gutters. But the Evo has rain gutters, at least mine. I am not sure which to use, the "door-sill" type, or rain gutter type. The difference can be seen on the two different cars on thisd thread. One is higher, allowing for more clearance below the bars (rain gutter towers), and the other is lower, wider, and uses the door sills.
Anyone have input on this?
Most Yakima snow racks have a "ski lift" which I assume is an optional height increase for upside down (bindings down, base-up) boards/skis. Maybe I could get away with Mark's door-sill setup with that?
AH, I dont know, this is a tough decision.

i like the way ski racks make cars look. heres my old galant vr4 with a yakima rack:
once i get a new car, all i have to do is get the right window frame clips, if it requires different ones. to make it so it wouldnt scratch the car, i put pieces of towel under the feet, and it worked great.

Hey you live in Albuquerque right? I'd love to see your rack and car in person, looks really good. On the shredding tip, it's pretty sparse up here, but hope you have fun anyway! I can't wit until I finish this project for work so I can head up to CO!
here are a couple from another post... this is one bad *** evo.
