Did you guys remove the fender liners? Or modify them, if so how? Any tips would be great!

If you're using +40 offset wheels with 20 or 25mm spacers, the entire wheel is going to move forward and backward as you turn the wheel, since the pivot is no longer in the center of the wheel, allowing it to rub on the fender wells and the sideskirt.

You need to heat the fender liners with a strong heatgun and remold parts of the fender well. Mold them exaggeratedly as they will cool and try to contract back to its original shape, but try not to melt the plastic. I also went ahead and unscrewed some of the plastic screws, then zip tied the front part of the fender liners further forward. I also drilled another screw hole at the edge of the sideskirt (still within the fender well) so that the skirt doesn't rub the tires when you turn it. This is just a start, there's still more serious hacking to it than this.

^ Thanks for the GREAT explanation. I'll try it out tonight with the heat gun.
Luckily mines only +27 with a 10mm spacer, so I have no issues rubbing the sideskirt, only the liner.

Here's a pic of how I zip-tied the fender well forward. The zip tie wraps around a steel bar that is immediately behind it that plastic fender well for structural rigidity. The other end wraps around a strong piece of metal behind the front bumper.

thanks for the pic! im going to try it tomorrow. but after you zip tired, did you still have to reshape the fender liner with a heat gun?

I test fitted my nt03 with 255/35/18 tires and they rub on the front and rear of the fender liner at full lock. Any advice on where to zip tie the back of the fender liner?

I didn't mold the front side of the fender liners since the zip ties did the job there. The rears were where I went to town with it.

Thank you!!

I actually didn't have to modify the fronts at all, but now with that picture I know what to do if I ever needed.

And yes, the rears I went crazy on as well haha.
I heated them and used a block of wood to hold it in to reshape the liner. I also cut a bit of the sideskirt and the piece right beside it completely off. I seem to have about 1/2" of clearance now, so hopefully when the car is under load braking and turning there will be no more rubbing!

On the '03 at least, there's a steel piece of metal coming from the body of the car that you'll need to hammer back. If you pull the fender well open, you'll see it. That's the part that the wheel will encounter after pushing up against the fender well. You'll hear it loudly inside the car when the wheel rubs on that part. You'll also know cuz you can't turn the wheel to full lock. Then there are other tricks to move the wheel forward, like getting the PSRS bushing, which will add caster.

Yeah I saw that metal tab inside the fender. I didn't have to hammer it because it seem to give me 1/2" of clearance still at full lock. I'm on 265's on a 9.5 +17 front offset, but i can turn wheel full lock both ways now with no rubbing. I'll test it out this weekend after getting an alignment if it still rubs during some aggressive driving.

I wish my camber plates up front would let me add more caster though.

Are you talking about the front or rear fenders that have the metal tab on it? would you happen to have a picture?

thanks
