WW owners (cleaning around exhaust)

I have had the car for a little over a week now.

I finally had a chance to clean and noticed I could not wipe the bumper area near exhaust clean.

I was wondering if there is something I can use that isn't harsh on the paint and does not strip wax away.

I used some meguirs car wash (purple) and it did a great job on the rest of the vehicle, but the bumper around around the exhaust is really bad. I am kind of worried about this in the future.

Any suggestions.

I'll take pics if need be.

well I think now we all know why WW owners opt for the bumper shield.

no seriously I think that's the reason. =\

I can't get mine clean either but who really looks down there besides you? I think the area around the exhaust openning is still very white but the area that makes up the curve for the hole is all tarred and grimy. =\ good luck tho

I ordered the carbon fiber shield for mine. I have used 3M Imperial Hand Glaze to clean it, but you should also apply some wax.

As far as the yellow stain on the bumper cover outside, it will come off with soap (Megs) and water. You just need to rub it thoroughly. I sometimes go two weeks without washing the car, and it will still come off.

Just apply some elbow grease. It will come off.

Now, as far as the exhaust cutout that is a pain to keep clean on white. I dont even try.

Yeah this won't work. I tried to scrub but its still yucky.

I mean looking at it you would think I owned the car for years.

I just figured ya'll new of some stuff that might work.

I'm going to try some grease lightning next. That **** works on everything in my house. I'll try in a small area first.

I'll be buying an cf cover too. Where can a find a good one (quality).

I consider it an incentive to save up for the JDM IX rear

But yeah, i'm definately surprised at how it looks given the car is only a few weeks old.

few weeks? 1 week and 400 miles.

However white folks (joke). The grease lightning is the shiznit.

I spray it on only a spray or two and it wiped completely away even around the tailpipe.

I will say however, that it may be more difficult if you do not wash your car often.

I also called grease lightning and they said it is safe on paint as long as it not sitting in the sun and drying on the car.

i have a WW ix and had the same problem when my ix was a few weeks old. i just used simple green, a cotton rag, and a little bit of elbow grease. it worked. i didn't waxed the area but i did put on a carbon fiber heat shield.

yeah tirbolag knows his stuff.... i detail cars and when i do light colored vehicles with aftermarket exhausts or any that have burnt "Exit holes" i use simple green on a "bug sponge" (its the sponge with the netting around it) and just put some force to rubbing and youll hear it start to squeak, that noise means its coming off usually

and once you get it off put a coat of wax on there, some spray detailer, then a little rainX and next time you wash your car the carbon will just fall off

now get out there and start scrubbin bro

Personally, I think you guys are trying wayyy to hard.
All I use is Meg's soap and a good microfiber wash mit (which is key).

Then I just scrub away, and the yellow exhaust burns wipe off.

However, I will certainly buy and try the Grease Lightning stuff if it that easy and clear coat safe.

Thanks for the tip.
