One thing for sure is that the clutch can't take that much abuse and the tranny isn't the strongest either.

yea the Evo's quite reliable mechanically if the owner takes care of it...but in terms of how it's put together...

well let's just say starting last night on the highway i started hearing rattling noises from pretty much everywhere lol

it's worth it though. i'll just get an exhaust to cover the noises up or somethin.

my old mr2 turbo was the same way as the supra i guess...it was a 1991 but it drove so smooth and quiet u seriously wont know when it was made/how old it was unless u were told. i had some mods on her too.

yeah the car is reliable...but like everyone has said, as soon as you start modding, it becomes a money pit. Just leave it stock and upgrade your IC clamps and you'll be set.... oh i say this because they always seem to pop off, at least on my 9 they do...that **** pisses me off!!

anyhow goodluck with your purchase!

Don't modd it and you will be fine , start modding and your pockets will go weak.

You just have to set goals for your car and stop there and just enjoy it. I had a goal of just running 7's at the local 1/8 mile track on pump gas. I've ran a 7.88 with pump gas and simple mods now.

Driving the car hard and modding it isn't the problem.....it's when your abusing it is when it gets expensive. I've had my car for over 3 years now and I've taken my time modding it. That is why I haven't gotten bored with it.

My buddy has over 50,000 miles on the stock clutch. Guess what? Its never seen a drag strip and never been launched. Go figure....

Generally I think if you are asking this question, an Evo is not your best choice.

its true, its a reliable car unless you mod it to hell... i have 65,000 miles in my '03 and it needs a new clutch now... its been riding on a stock one ever since. til i just added in a new IC pipe and FMIC to the car... its showing that my car is producing more power than stock.. since i made HP... the clutch goes!

That sound awsome, if you dont mind me asking who built your car and what are your specs? 100k on it and no problems !! mine only has 4500miles on it and its been endless problems.
