Engine shots!!

Gave my engine a quick cleaning today and put on a couple of the ARC pieces I got in the mail. I still have a few more pieces coming in, so I think that it will look pretty nice when it's all in there. I'd like to go with an ARC theme, but man that strut bar and FMIC are EXPENSIVE!!!

These pics are just cleaned, not detailed. I want to wait to detail the engine bay until it gets closer to the day. Enjoy!!

On the show she is an ex stripper. CSI Vegas is the best CSI. Miami and NY just don't do it for me!!! David Caruso seems to try a little too hard on Miami, and I've only seen one episode of NY....it was alright.

"I used Ultimate Leather Cleaning Gel and Ultimate Leather Conditioner. I also used a Sonus Cockpit detailer and 303 Aerospace Protectant for the other parts of the seats."

You used the Sonus Cockpit detailer for the suede and mesh areas of the seat? Then used the Aerospace Protectant after on these parts?

I'd like to clean my seats but for one I'm clueless what material they are (correct me if I'm wrong but it's leather, suede and mesh???) and what to use to clean them?

Thanks for the help and good luck with the show.

Is that like a bad thing?? The day I was at the track my clutch absolutely WOULD NOT launch any higher than 2K rpm, which is crap. I haven't been back to the track yet with my new clutch.

I'm doing this thread because I do detailing for part of my living. I enjoy detailing....simple. I would like to be driving the car, but I honestly really enjoy cleaning it as well. When I've completed a car, it makes me feel proud and a sense of accomplishment. I'm sure many people can completely understand what I mean.

If I wanted to go out and buy a big turbo kit and an engine rebuild and go stupid fast....I would. I have more than enough money to do so. But at this point with the car, I want it to be a little bit faster than stock, look aesthetically pleasing, and last as long as possible before I need to do some kind of major upgrade.

And I also want people to be able to see it, and if they like it I will be more than happy to help or give advice.

The 4 Star (Ultimate) cleaner and conditioner I use for leather only....easy. I don't use anything else on my leather.

I use the Sonus Cockpit Detailer on all the plastics throughout the cabin. After I complete the wipe down with that, I go over all the plastics with the 303. I let the 303 sit for a few, then I buff it ( I use a microfiber towel).

As for cleaning the suede and the mesh, it really depends on how dirty it is. I have a few Stinger Products, Meguiars and a couple more and they all work pretty good. I actually prefer, to be honest, Tough Stuff that you can get at advance auto. It's a pretty mild working foam that goes on pretty easy and, depending on how much you apply, doesn't leave the seat too wet. I'll use a very soft bristled brush to help break up the dirt a little bit. Otherwise, if it's not too bad, I'll use a 100% cotton terry cloth.

Of course, if it's really bad and you want it REALLY clean, you'll need the stain removers and something like a Hot Water Extractor. That will help get everything up instead of pushing it down into the fabrics. Remember that dirt acts as an abrasive on fabric. It helps the tearing process over time, especially getting in and out of the car.

If you ever try out something that you're not sure about, test it in an inconspicuous area first. Some cleaners are VERY harsh and may damage certain fabrics if you are not careful. Especially if it's a commercial grade cleaner that you have to mix.

Not really "extreme" by any means, but leaves a very nice, non-slick, natural finish. And that's the best kind!! I've used Meguirs Leather Care stuff and I like this stuff better.

I like the smell of the 4 Star Stuff. Not lemon scented or anything, but definitely a likeable odor.
