Let the cleaning begin!!

Their is a local car show here on the 4th of November. One of the contests is Best Detailed and I definitely intend to enter. That gives me three weeks to prepare my car.

I will be updating this thread as I go along the process of completing each area of detail. I will list all the products I use in case anyone else wants to try them.

Brand new floor mats are already on their way here. Also coming is: Arc Gradient Spark Plug Cover, Arc Titanium Cooling Plate, Arc Oil Cap, Arc Exhaust Manifold Cover, Arc Radiator Cap and Tyrant Battery Tie down. Hopefully they will spruce up the engine bay a little bit.

Anyway, here are some pics of how it's going so far....

Front seats out of the car--

One of the cleaned seats sitting before being wrapped--

Front seats and center part wrapped--

I used Ultimate Leather Cleaning Gel and Ultimate Leather Conditioner. I also used a Sonus Cockpit detailer and 303 Aerospace Protectant for the other parts of the seats.

I think you're taking a car show a tad bit too serious. Cars are meant to be driven, not have their seats taken out and wrapped...I guess if it makes you happy though...

CSI is a great show! Seats look really shiney. Be careful not to slide straight off the seat.

You are really taking this serious. You must have alot of free time on your hands. Good luck with it though, I'll try to get up there to see how it turned out.

Hope it does'nt rain

I hope for your sake you win. It's gonna suck if you spend all the effort and some kid who just vacuum'd his Honda at the local Car Wash takes home the prize!

So, in the suede of the seats, will you:

a. Do alternating horizontal stripes like a vacuum cleaner?
b. all uniform?
c. draw something cool in them?

I vote for c, maybe ?

Uhhhh ^ lol

Might as well give it a try while it's still new. Don't forget the steering wheel and pedals

Actually, that's mostly the camera taking in the depth of the seat plus they are still a little wet. The Ultimate Conditioner I use makes them a little darker than normal for about 3 minutes and then you buff it off. It is completely dry to the touch because I feel like professional's shouldn't have a clean car that is slippery. Plus, I can't stand that slick feeling.

If you were to see them in person, they look VERY natural!!!

LOL, yeah, I love the TV. I haven't really got to test out how well the 1080p looks on it because I'm not shelling out $1K for a blu-ray DVD player. I do have the Sony DVD player that upconverts running through a HDMI cable though. I'm a big fan of movies as you can see.......

After I clean the plastic with what I happen to be using at the time. This goes on.

I use this as protectant, it goes on after the other stuff. I love it, works great and leaves a very natural feel and look. I'm not a big fan of the shiny stuff.

I also have Stinger products, some Meguiars, Black Magic (which I don''t like at all), Stoner Invisiglass (which I like) along with an industrial glass cleaner in case the other stuff doesn't work, etc.

I use this vacuum for the car. It's VERY powerful. The filter is ok, kind of small. What this thing lacks in filters and finish it makes up with power. Although I really like my Kirby, it's not as practical.

I do have a little bit of time on my hands, but I'm stretching this out over 3 weeks. I'm only spending about 1-2 hours a day working on it. I would like to drive the car, but to be honest, it does sit around a lot. I put the first 1K miles on it within a week of buying it. I just hit 3700 miles and I'm at a little over 7 months of owning it. It could be lower, but I try to drive it as much as I can when I do drive it.
