Your engine is so clean I would eat off of it. Good luck with the show, and keep us posted on all the new goodies.

PS. A new intake and UICP might not benefit you for ponies, but would sure clean up your engine bay. Keep up the good work.

Good idea!! Not a fan of intakes, especially when they are not needed. I already have a drop-in, so I don't think I would spend more money on an intake right now. It would definitely look better!! The top of the airbox seems like the black finish is kind of flaking off. I wonder if I can get some kind of cover in the meantime.

The UICP I would definitely do. I'm still trying to convince the better half to let me buy an ARC FMIC....and hopefully ARC strut bar as well. She's not too keen on the price for the ARC FMIC!!!!

My other ARC stuff should be here today, I'm stoked. I'll post pics when I get them.

I just reordered the stockers from Lancershop. I thought about getting the Diamond Plated ones.....but I thought they were a little too ricey. On the other side of the spectrum, I thought some rubber mats would be a little too bland.

I want a nice, natural looking finish. No gauges everywhere, or neon lights or vinyl all over the place. I have vinyl in the rear door's windows for the shop that did all the work cause they are an awesome down-to-earth smaller shop and I'd like to represent them. And I have the EXEDY logo on the sideskirts cause I like the look of it.

Not really "extreme" by any means, but leaves a very nice, non-slick, natural finish. And that's the best kind!! I've used Meguirs Leather Care stuff and I like this stuff better.

I like the smell of the 4 Star Stuff. Not lemon scented or anything, but definitely a likeable odor.
Nice , thanks for the links!

Do you have a link for who is hosting the car show? I'm planning on coming up and could enter in some sort of category. Most neglected maybe? Best tuner ride, for a construction workers daily driver (single power adder sub class). I would prefer to be in the double power adder class but alas, I'll not have the alky sprayin yet.

Anyway, I spectate pretty good so I'll be there.

I have no idea who the main host is. NEO, which is some car club around here, might be hosting it, but I am not sure.

You can try visiting http://www.slipsmag.com and emailing them for more info. I have the paper around here somewhere. I'm kind of curious who's going to end up showing up from around here. Their are quite a few really nice cars around here, but their are a TON of crappy ones.

You can get your car really dirty and enter the best detailed class. The judges will probably laugh so hard they will give you the trophy for most original entry. Hmmm...now that I think about it, that would be WAY easier than all this cleaning!!

If you're going you are more than welcome to tag along with us. My brother is taking his Evo for sure and a few more people I know are probably heading out with us. I know several people that might be out on float during that time, so I don't know if they will go. I'm trying to get as many friends as possible to go and vote for me. It would be nice to win money, but a trophy and bragging rights will work just a well.

Also, I'd be more than willing to help do a quick detail and we can do a photo shoot. I think another white Evo 8 is going to be there with us. One of the other IX MR owners I knew traded his in for an Explorer.....he has kids (was his best explanation)

Here's a quick update. Pics taken at night. The wheel shot is kind of a teaser showing very clean brake calipers. The wheel needs a little more cleaning, then some wax and it will be all set and 3 more to go.

The other pics are of my new ARC spark plug cover and the ARC cooling plate. Both of which still need to be cleaned. They were DIRTY in the packaging they came in!!

A combination of a few things: detailing, investments and yes, an inheritance from when my mom died.

^ I agree with cMw...when my Evo was new I was as meticulous as you with the cleaning...but as it gets older I have less time to clean and be meticulous...its kinda depressing hehe anywyas good luck on the car show! If you would charge for a detail like that how much would it be???

It all depends on the situation for me. Some places and people like to charge set rates. But I prefer to be a little more personal with it. So depending on how dirty the car is and what-not is usually a huge factor. I don't want to charge someone that has kept their car pretty clean the same price as someone that has let there car go to hell.

Plus, if I know the person, cause I've done many of my friend's cars, I'll charge less.

I also like to play it safe. If they can leave the car with me for a couple of days, that will give me more time to make sure everything is addressed. You don't want to start rushing when it comes to detailing a car cause more than likely you will miss something. I could probably do an entire car in a day, but that would be doing things quick. I like to take my time with cars and get them done right.

I think the paint on my car looks pretty good although it's dirt. See pics below.

I got my new tripod for my Nikon so I figured I would take a couple pics of my car. I'm waiting on my 70-210mm lense to get here over the next couple of days.

Keep in mind, the wheels are done, but the car itself hasn't been washed in a week or two. Still looks pretty good to me though.
