A first for everything
This is really late but...
so yep this I think is my first thread on evom. The winter months are here and I find myself with the duty filled task of breaking down my car for the 2k7 Time Attack Season. After harassing Bullet Proof Automotive for my Kit (which I tip my hats off to them for having patience with non patient customers) I was finally able to get my Varis Super Taikyu kit installed and painted.
I had basically maxed out my stock turbo setup and was left with a very horrible problem... A really nice and functional kit... But not enough power to really call it a beast! So a quick turbo upgrade and some wrench time later brought me the third arrival of my car.
This is what it looked like while performing street duty with 19x9.5 Buddy Club wheels.
With some good old plum luck I was invited to run my car at GT Live with the Unlimited Class Cars in good company with the Cyber EVO, AMS Chicago EVO, Zero Sports STI, ASM S2k. It was lots of fun.
I had soooo much fun at the GT SIM Race that I almost forgot that I had signed up to run at the Tarzan Lap Battle. Which really sucked because I was only able to get 10 laps on the very last session on a wet course. Just right before the end it started to dry up and I was able to get the fastest run of the day and 2nd in my class. That just squeeeeezed me in to qualify for Tarzan Yamada to drive my car around the track.... Yeah... we caught some air car on the back straight!
This is a group shot of all the EVOs that were parked down by the pits. Needless to say the 2k7 Time Attack season is going to be awesome.
Thanks Bulletproof for calming my trigger happy a$$ happy down with the Varis Kit. Thanks to DTM for the race setup, tune, and retarted nice turbo kit. Also Thanks to Revision auto for the clean install of the kit.
It is hard trying to get into this game without any type of sponsorship or hookups. I've had to struggle as a privateer the whole way. It was a two year build to get to this point and there were multiple times that I was very close with trashing the whole project all together. Some how I kept the damn thing and after GT Live (which was my first event ever!) I am glad that I did.
Time Attack & Road racing in general is where it's at!
Last thing... Does any one know any good photographers in the DC Area? I'm looking to get some pro photos taken like EvoDave!
