Changing color of odometer?

Anyone done a color change on the odometer? I know it can be done but I am curious as to what I need to get to do it as I don't want to pull the dash, figure it out, put it back together and pull it out again.

My target color is the bluish green of the climate control and other interior lights. I have Trustz electoluminescent instrument cluster and have also color matched my other gauges so the only thing still orange is the odo so it looks funny. And yes, I have gone in the opposite color direction of most people here but being different is a good thing sometimes!

Thanks for any info.

Uhhhhh...no.

I'm guessing that it uses some sort of LED back light that will need to be changed.

I thought the color the dash gauges are fixed in red. Changing the LED won't make that much a difference. I could be wrong but I think your only option is buy a gauge replacement from one of the vendors or just the faceplate replacement from Ebay. Taking the dash apart ain't too bad.

You are correct about changing the color of the gauges. I have a full replacement set in the car already that are matched to the factory bluish-green.

I am only needing to change the color of the LCD odometer which should be dictated by its back lighting.

Hmmm, sounds like I will have to pull it apart on Sunday and have a look as there are no clear answers. It is probably possible to remove the lighting that is back there and replace it with the bulb/bulb sock used in the climate control as they are the correct color.

I will post back with what I find.

...and I thought I was the only one bothered by the only orange in their gauges from having the "indiglo" face gauge cluster mod.

I have just given up and dealt with it because there's been no answer to this question and I really don't feel like ruining my perfectly functioning odometer.

hopefully there will be someone that is pretty ingenuitive and gets this figured out some day.
