Help with my Tarmac Black Evo

I have a TB Evo and it has the normal problems that black Evos have. It has dings, rock chips, scrathes, and just the normal problems a black car gets. My front bumper has taken most of the abuse it has the most visable damage. Before I spend the money I would like to know what you guys suggest with maybe fixing some of the problems. Do you suggest a buff or wax or repainting just the front bumper or what? throw me some comments thanks.

I have an '05 TB. My front bumper is rashed (hit the steps in my garage while parking), the hood has a paint chip and a small ding as well as my passenger side doors. Thing is, when it's washed and waxed, the imperfections are so much more noticeable!

I've tried scratch remover, clay bar, wax.....doesn't seem to help much...I've painfully learned to tune out the problems and enjoy the car as is....I know this isn't really what you wanted to hear....sorry!

if you paint just the bumper it's going to look odd... since the shade won't match wiht the rest of the car... they gotta blend the color's oyor hood and fender... that's going to be the priciest... me i just waxed my car and it lokss much better...

take it in to a detail shop that specializes in doing black cars. It usually cost about 200 for an exterior was that takes about 2 days. They remove old wax, wax it, seal it and polish. Any lite scratches will become removed but rock chips and other un-sighty looking pit or paint chips will not disappear.

When you are done fixing it, have everything on the front end clear braed and you won't have trouble again.

BTW, I really good shop can match the bumper to the car without blending into the fenders and will garauntee a match.

Black or white paint does not automatically mean you have to blend, in most cases you do not.

I've only owned black cars, and I'd suggest getting the front end(bumper, hood, fenders) repainted, then doing the 3M Clear bra. If the painter is good, is should match nicely!

That should last you for the life of the car. Probably run you around $1500.

X2 except for the clear bra. I wrecked my black GTI and got a new bumper and hood. I went to a good body shop and the paint job is very good. I have gotten maybe 5 rock chips in almost 2 years. A good paint job is 100x better than OEM paint jobs and will last a lot longer.
