Strange paint chips
My chips aren't as bad as the one in the picture but they're in th same place. Mine are al towards the lower part though and don't extend as high....about an area of 1-2 inches.
BTW, I don't drive offroad at all. My wife noticed the chips before I did...they are really small. But a few of them have a slight rust color...so it's going to the dealer

That's just plain amazing that the chips are so far back.. and for those with chips so high as the windows
.
Do the front airdam canard things maybe create a vortex to keep the air flow twisting debris away from the car.. heh.
Would Front mud guards help solve this?
I think mud/splash guards might be in order.

If it's only on one side IT MUST BE THE EVO HATERS!!
When you pass them coming head on they have small rock launchers at rocker panel level on their hondas (suspected, but not confirmed) which they fire and damage unsuspecting good folks of this proud nation.

My question is has MMUSA come up with a solution for this problem? Even if they repaint that area it will still chip again, it is not a permanent fix. I used to own a WRX and there is a plastic protector plate there at that spot, I always wonder what that was for.

BTW this is not my WRX.

i found out what the problem is.. it seems mitus has installed the left passanger door wrong... notice how your door seems to be a tiny bit lower (sunken in) than the frame of the car.. rub your fingers along the door and over the crack between the door and the frame.. you'll notice what i'm talking about.. where all the chipping is! look at the other side.. the door kind of overlaps the frame of the car.... somehow something is riding over the door and hitting on the frame! wind/rocks/bugs... whatever it is it's chipping our cars cause somebody put the door hinges in the wrong spot! atleat this is what it seems to me!
i have them..started out with one and now i got 4 of them..
****..i thought its just me that has the chip..i guess i am wrong...
i cant believe the ratio is relatively high..almost everybody got them on/off road use..oh well...chips are something that are hard to prevent..gotta install some of those 3M stuff instead of painting them..well. touch up first of course..

well i just got back from the dealer. i brought this THREAD with me (felt like a dork
) but anyways i showed the service manager the nicks and told him about the door. He told me that he would have the paint fixed and have the door pulled out a little (if that makes any sense).
he did ask how many miles I had on it. FYI...2800. Also if any else is in CT, go the Colonial Mitsu. and talk to Steve....good guy
