Just wanted to let everyone know that I got my car back from the dealership and they did an ALRIGHT job. but they did pull the door out a little so that it isnt in direct contact with the road debris.

I went to the 3M site and checked for a local installer. Here's the URL:

http://selector.3m.com/selector/us/e...ss.asp?FAM=wtb

The installer said they didn't sell the film without installing it, but after I seeing what I needed they just gave me a scrap piece. It was more than adequate for the area behind the rear doors.

Chips!

Had them after first wash! Less than 300 miles on the car at that time. Mtsu rep tried to pull the "It looks like it could be from gravel", I said don't even try to pull that **** w/me. He backed off immediately and offered to have it repainted. Also, I have a numereous fish hooks in the driverside door jam and trunk. My feelings is that this is bull???? for paying what I forked out. Would be more than happy to sighn on to some kind of compensation law case! Let me know if anyone is interested! Obviously thier is a paint problem at the plant!

Chips!

Also, forgot to mention that the rocks will not fly backwards opposite the direction of the tire! Proving that it is not from the road gravel.

I will be talking to them this week when i go in for my recall fix.

I'm going to try the civil way first, then bring up this thread. I am also going to post a thread in EVO General to reference people there to look at their car and comment. I have a feeling its pretty common.

I got a chip within 2 weeks of buying the car in April. 4000 miles later, happily I have nothing more to report.

Now I don't feel so bad since all of you guys have it (and so do I). Hopefully Mitsu will have a fix for us soon. If not, I guess I will take my car in along w/ this post into our dealers GM.

So I got my door moved out a little however now the top section of the door is sticking out. I was like WTF, the mechanic tried to loosen the bolts on the top door latch (the one on the car frame) but it was not coming off, looks like it had loctite on there or something. Can I adjust the other latch on the door itself? One problem after another, the paint chip went away (I hope) and now the door is not align right.

I really don't like how it sticks out a bit on the top section of the door, I need to get it fix.

We took our Evo to the dealership to talk to the GM. He started off very rude at first but then got nicer as it went. He was not interested in what everyone had posted on here about thier chipping. He told us that he was going to get w/engineering to see what they thought and he took some pictures of the chips. He refused to bend the door out and repaint it because he stated, "that would just be putting a band aid on it and I want it fixed right.". He stated that engineering will most likely get w/the manufactors in Japan to see if we can get something taken care of for this. He is also going to check with other dealerships to see if they have had any complaints. Please, please....make this situation known to your dealers. Hopefully we can get this turned into a recall and get it fixed for everyone without having to be pushed around about it. I will let you know what we find out when the GM contacts us back.
