EVO 9 wing measurement

idk if this is the correct thread.. I would like to know the space between the pair of screws on an IX spoiler, as in the length of the spoiler not between the pair of screens that attach on one side of the trunk

thank you!

it doesnt. its 2-3 inches too short. its an evo 9 wing on a 2003 lancer OZ. I dont need you to tell me it fits when i already tried installing it. it doesnt fit the stock holes. it doesnt stretch to both edges of the trunk

thats strange since i always believed the small 'gt' wings on evos was actually a lancer wing... i could be wrong but never looked into it since i thought it was fugly.

No the spoilers will not just bolt up. the smaller wing uses a diff bolt pattern. he is correct in saying that both 8's and 9's are the same size. because they are. In order for it to fit your small winged (or no winged) lancer oz, you will have to fill in the center mounting holes (center mass of the trunk lid) as well as the side ones, then redrill a hole on either side of the trunk lid. I know this because I have had it done to one at work before.

ah ok, so the OZ's have a bit of a wider trunk approx 2-3 inches and there will be a space on either side of the wing of about 1 inch or so between the outer edge of the wing and the trunk?? sabastian458 do you have any pics?? My Oz has the low wing, I have sitting in my room a evo 9 wing, the tall one with carbon fiber center deck

What year lancer do you have? the first body style (02-03) are excatly the same size. the later ones (04-present) are completely different and will not work.

has anyone here gone wingless and can provide the measurement? because if they are all the same they should fit. and clearly they do not.

I do not know if you are trying to fit the Evo wing on the stock holes of your OZ. If you are, it won't fit, as the Evo wing and the small wing have different bolt paterns. If you are saying that the wing you have is bigger/wider that your trunk, you clearly do not have a real EVO wing.

i thought it would fit the lancers because i heard some1 saying that if you ever go wingless you can swap for a lancer trunk so u wont have the holes showing... guess not

They are the same. I would question the wing first. Are you sure it's from an actual evo? New holes will have to be drilled but the 03 lancer and the evo trunks are interchangeable.

the trunks are the same and are interchangable.....what I think our friend hea is trying to explain is that the bolt pattern from his oz spoiler differs from the bolt pattern of the evo spoiler, which would be true as sabastian pointed out.

in which chase he will have to drill new holes to make it work, unless the spoiler isn't actually from an evo 9....then you're ****ed!
