Window Tinting: NOT Film-Based
I've read that automakers use a different process to tint their windows, my Evo IX was sold to me from the dealer with the tint already "installed."
I don't know if it's a film or if it came from the factory that way (Las Vegas). In any case, it's not really dark enough for me and I'd like to darken it.
Where can I learn more about window tinting for our cars that is *NOT* film-based?
Yes, I know it will be an order of magnitude more expensive (or more). I'm willing to pay that difference to avoid films.

simple trick, open it a tad and see if there is a line that the tint stops at at the very top of the window once its rolled down. if it has that lil area that is untinted then more then likely the windows were tinted,

Manufactueres layer tint within multi panes of glass, or they use a tinting agent to the glass mixture when in a molten state.
The evo has standard glass... you have film tint from the dealer... the factory never installs tint
