Never did a seat before... and I had to do some minor cutting on the stock bracket. Plus I had to go to home depot twice to get some bolts I had misplaced. I'm sure with more practice I would get it down to an hour or less. But as the old carpenter saying goes "Measure twice, cut once."

Aren't these style seats gets uncomfy for long periods of seating/driving time?

How high does the seat sit due to the bracket? Still enough ceiling clearance for a helmet?

I was comfy for a the whole trip from Miami to North Carolina, then to Nashville, back to Atlanta Georgia and then back to Miami. Just don't get the first seat you see. Find the Measurement charts and make sure you have one that will fit your butt.

I set it low as I am a big guy but yes you do have space for a helmet. The side brackets come with several holes so you can adjust the height.
