my neighbor has an evo, and i have an OZ....we both have nearly
20 to 22 thousand miles on both our rides, and we dont have any
interior problems, i just have slight problems with the brakes
sliding when braking at high speeds and paint issues, he just has
idle problems....

tHE FUNNY THING IS THAT THE ONES COMPLAING,ARE DOING IT OVER PETTY ****-FLOOR MATS! GO BUY A FARRARI, ITS AN ACCESSORY.TO MANY PEOPLE HAVE THIS CAR AND DON'T NEED IT ,DESERVE IT AND ARE SPOILED.LOVIN MINE HOW BOUT YOU!
Interesting thing about problems with cars often is due to the demographics of the owners.
Evos around outside the US cost more, and people who spend ~$55,000 for a car tend to tret it with more respect, why? who knows. Often higher priced cars are 3rd, 4th or 5th cars, so primary cars that are used more dont' have as much wear put on them, plus the primary vehicles are often thought of as cheap disposible cars and are so treated as such. Kind of a self fufilling type treatment/expectation of a vehicle.
Less expensive cars are more affordable to the average individual and often become the primary vehicle getting the most use and often the least respect.
I haven't seen much difference in quality between Evo's, just equipment, but the demographics of Evo owners outside the US are more like the M3 in the US. I guess spending nearly twice the amount of money on a car somehow makes people use it less and treat it better, and it lasts longer and becomes a *better* car. Kind of self fulfilling.
When someone sees a $15,000 car as cheap it is often treated porrly, maintened porly, and guess what, it ends up performing poorly and not lasting long.
People have a pathetic perception that more money makes better quality, but often it's self fufilling treatment of things based on how much money people waste on them.

Well geez guys, why don't you whine a little more; oh boo-hoo, my mat are cheap or my paint is too thin or my VTA POV is too quiet. I have had my EVO since March 5, '03, the first one off the truck and this thing is put together like a fine watch. Crawl under the car and scope out the suspension, race-car quality all the way. The engine was de-tuned for the US market, but those horses are hidden in there if you know how to mod and drive your car instead of *****in' about every little nit-pickin thing. If you can't afford the damn thing buy a Honda. I am amazed that Mitsu got this thing past the lawyers and the accountants. I guess there are some people who just like to complain about everything, but for Christ sake shut-up because I am tired of you morons dumping on this wonderful car. go ask your Mommy if she will buy you something else, and leave my Evo to the people that can drive them, and afford them.
