anybody tried warrentying them? It might work if you have a cool service manager. Does anyone have an idea of good aftermarket floor mats, or do walmart mats last?

Yup, mine's wearing fast too. I bought some clear plastic floor mats to put on top of them now.

Yeah, those freakin' rat bastids at Mitsu, I hate selling their crap. Especially this damn Evo. I mean, look, they give us a freaking 271 hp engine that's capable of 375+ on stock internals, I mean why the hell did they not just go ahead and hook us up with 500+? And damn this hand made carbon fiber spoiler, these special Enkei wheels and Yokohama Advans designed specifically for this car. I mean, my gawd only .95G's on the skidpad? Why not just give us a round number like 1.00G for chrissakes? FMIC with a watersprayer? They could have at LEAST put on a n20 intercooler package with free nitrous refills at every dealership when you run out. And that sorry Pitpass, it should include a free engine teardown every 10,000 miles and a new clutch. All that and a 3/36 and 5/60 warranty? Should be 7/100 all across the board. Twin scroll turbo, hollow camshafts, lightened glass? I'd trade it all for floormats that last fifty year. I'm writin' a letter to Pierre Gagnon right now...

But seriously. Before you flame, did you ever stop to think that perhaps the carpet in these cars is designed to be lighter to shave weight? It may seem like an infintessimal thing to do for an advantage, but it is a consideration.

i bought a linear foot of black plastic mat from home depot and cut it to fit over that area of the floor mat. My car has 1400 miles and its starting to wear, i'm a nut about detailing and cleanliness. It actually looks pretty good now, hopefully it'll solve the problem.

Why even bother with buying replacement floor mats? These should be covered under the interior trim portion of the warranty. Personally, I will be buying the diamond plate ones, just because they look cool and will match the wicked fast racing pedals and all the carbon fiber goodies and the interior neon lights and the...........nevermind.....just joking. I do like the look of the diamond plate ones though, and since my work boots are always tracking in all kinds of junk into the car, I wouldn't try to get mine replaced for stains, but fabric wear is a totally different story with just 10,000 miles of usage.

Seriously, this should be covered under warranty. If your factory spedo or tach stopped working, they would replace it, and there is friction on these parts as well, so they could also be considered wear and tear items. True, a lot less friction, but it is just the principle, man.......It's the principality.....
