Ooh, this is a cool thread, never noticed it.

Right now I'm making some DIY electronic det-cans to assist with tuning. The microphone I'm using will be connected back to my laptop, on which I'll be able to listen and record the sound from the engine, and sync it with my logs. Last night I soldered the microphone to the stereo plug, still need to find a mounting point.

Just tape it off and paint it yourself. Thats all I did and it looks just like the emblem you'll be paying $20 or more...

A quick coat of primer, two/three coats of paint and 2 coats of clear coat is all you needs.

maybe take this to a different thread as it doesn't really relate to this.
Well its tuned by tobz, but I recently had the car fall through ice and the block ended up cracked So now it's getting built with a 2.0L 10.5:1 Compression ratio and evo 9 turbo, running on E-85 full time obviously.. I'm jus worried because I'm moving to boulder in the fall and am still gonna DD the car.. although I wont need it as much as I may think

Y'all know some of the shadier vendors troll these DIY threads (or start them)...lookin to scam ideas. If you come up with something really awesome...watermark your pics and patent it if its extremely good.

On my Black EVO (Junk Box), I made a housing out of Aluminum for my new Tach to sit in. I also mounted the shift light right next to it as well. I may move my wideband gauge on the right side, but will see. I got some .050 aluminium and made the housing using the frame of the stock gauge cluster. Wasnt too bad to make, just took some time. Here's a couple pics. I also wrapped the Aluminum in Carbon Fiber Vinyl

Heres the final product installed. I just need to throw a couple screws in the top and thats it!
