If anything I would send it out to get ceramic coated (jet hot)

 

the piece I am painting is cast stainless, a SBR kit. The cast stainless turns a rust color pretty quickly so maybe this will help. Since it is cast stainless, it would take way too much effort to polish it to a shine, and it would prob turn anyway.

 

with it being that type, and being such a focal point to your engine bay, id send it out to be coated.

 

I used high temp paint for the manifold heat shield (1,200F), and it still looks like the day I painted it 3 months ago. Don't know how will hold up on the manifold directly, but give it a try.
